Kimball GALLAGHER is one of the Ambassadors of the 2023 International Day of Living Together in Peace.
He is one of the most dynamic and versatile pianists in the current scene. His sensitivity to the keyboard, coupled with his sense of innovation and undertaking, has allowed him to explore and develop a wide range of creative projects.
He will present for this first recital in Paris works by Mozart and Chopin, as well as original contemporary creations – bringing an equal-to-equal encounter between Africa and Europe.
In line with Mozart and Chopin, drawing inspiration from the book The Other, the Unknown, he will introduce composers, including Souhayl Guesmi – intermingling the sound of the piano with that of the saxophone, the nay (Tunisian flute), and songs in the Tunisian dialect. Senegalese kora, Wolof singing, and Afghan rhythms will follow.
Each piece aims to open a window to new sensations and new worlds.
